One to One Support

Support Services

For the signing community we offer practical and emotional support and advocacy on a one-to-one basis, helping you to live independently.  At JDA you will find a skilled Support Worker you can trust, who will offer access to clear information, communication support, interpreting, transport and befriending.

Our approachable, friendly and highly skilled support workers are here to help.

See below for a list of what we can help you with and book an appointment today: Our opening hours are Monday – Thursday 9.30 am – 5 pm.

Health

  • Arranging interpreters for medical appointments.
  • Accompaniment and transport to hospital, GP, optician, dental, chiropody appointments.
  • In hospital: visiting, communicating with medical staff and keeping family in touch.
  • Monitoring of medication, treatment and dietary regimes.
  • Organising nurses or care at home.

General

  • Help with financial and legal matters and other official paperwork.
  • Phone calls, appointments, dealing with utilities companies.
  • Shopping and nutritional advice.
  • Help with keeping you safe at home and elsewhere.
  • Arranging transport.
  • Wills and Power of Attorney.

JDA Fundraising Dinner and Cabaret

On Tuesday 7 November, we will be holding our biennial Fundraising Dinner and Cabaret. During the course of the evening we will be entertained by acclaimed musical comedy act, Fascinating Aida and Britian's Got Talent Finalists, DNA. Tickets are selling fast but for a chance to join us please contact claudia@jdeaf.org.uk. All funds raised will go directly to the JDA (suggested voluntary donation of £150 per ticket).
