People with hearing loss

Learn to Lipread

If you have a hearing loss, lipreading classes can help you to become more informed, more socially active, more confident and therefore more connected to those around you.

Our lipreading tutor runs lively, stimulating, interactive weekly classes every Monday and Friday.  Our Monday classes runs from 9.50am until 11.50am and 12.10pm until 14.10pm in person, or alternatively, you can log on from the comfort of your own home to our Zoom class on Friday morning, 10.30am until 12.30pm – and if something comes up when you usually attend, you can always swap to the other class for your convenience.

You will:

  • Meet people in similar situations.
  • Develop new ways to cope socially.
  • Improve your communication skills and knowledge.
  • Have the opportunity to discuss common issues.
  • Be able to access useful information.

If you are unsure whether Lipreading Classes are for you, please come along and observe a class - you will receive a warm welcome and be able to make an informed decision.

Email Jodie at jodie@jdeaf.org.uk for more information and to sign up for a free taster session.

Everyone is welcome!
